North Pole Bureau

By mail

A letter from Santa, in the mailbox, with their name on the envelope.

You give the Bureau a few true things from their year. Santa writes the letter. You read every word before you pay. Then it is printed on heavy cream stationery, signed, sealed and posted to your home.

  • Printed and mailed, $16.95: the letter, signed and sealed, in an addressed envelope.
  • North Pole Deluxe, $24.95: the same, plus a Nice List certificate with their name.
  • Both include a digital copy, emailed the day you order.
  • Mailed within the United States by letter post.

Order a mailed letter by Wednesday 9 December. That leaves time to write, print and post it before the last mail day. Letter post is not tracked.

What arrives in the printed edition: the letter on cream stationery and its addressed envelope

What is in the envelope

The letter is one page, US Letter size, on cream stock heavy enough to feel like a document. Santa’s signature is at the foot. The Bureau’s seal is printed at the head. The envelope is a plain cream #10 with your child’s name and your address written on the front and a real stamp in the corner. Nothing on it pretends to be a postmark.

With the Deluxe package, a landscape Nice List certificate rides in the same envelope. It names your child, carries the season of record, and is signed by Santa. See the certificate.

Questions about mailing

What arrives in the envelope?

One page of heavy cream Bureau stationery with the letter, Santa's signature and the Bureau's printed seal. The Deluxe package adds a Nice List certificate with your child's first name. The envelope is addressed to the name you give at checkout.

How is it mailed, and is it tracked?

By ordinary letter post within the United States. Letter post is not tracked, so the Bureau cannot promise the day it lands. Order by the date on this page to leave time.

Does it have a North Pole postmark?

No. The envelope carries a real stamp and is posted from the Bureau's own mailroom. We do not imitate a postmark, because a sharp-eyed child would spot a fake one.

Is the seal real wax?

No. The seal is printed on the letter. It is the same seal on every letter the Bureau sends, which is why a child can compare this year's to last year's.

What if the post is slow?

Every mailed package includes a digital copy of the same letter, emailed to you the day you order. If the envelope has not arrived by Christmas Eve, print the copy at home.

Can it be mailed outside the United States?

Not this season. The digital letter has no such limit and can be printed anywhere.
