The North Pole Supply Office

Thoughtfully chosen supplies for parents making a little extra Christmas magic at home. This is not a shop and it is not a list of bestsellers. It is what to look for when you buy your own, what the difference between two similar things actually is, and what is honestly not worth the money.

The Bureau's records office, with card drawers labeled Nice List, Kindness and Good Deeds

How the Supply Office works

Every entry is a kind of thing, not one exact product. We tell you what the thing is for, what separates a good one from a bad one, and what goes wrong. Then we point you at a search rather than a single listing.

That is on purpose. A single listing goes out of stock, gets replaced by a different product under the same link, or quietly doubles in price. A search for the right kind of thing keeps working. It is a worse affiliate link and a better recommendation, and we would rather be useful in a year than clever this week.

What you will not find here

  • Star ratings and review counts. We cannot verify them, and an unverifiable number next to a buy button is a made-up review.
  • Prices to the cent. They go stale within weeks. Where price matters we give a range in words.
  • Anything we would not put on our own desk. Nobody pays to be listed and no brand has seen a page before it went up.

How we are paid, and are not

Right now, we are not. No link in the Supply Office earns the Bureau anything, and the pages say so where a shopping link would otherwise be. If that ever changes, the disclosure page changes with it and the notice appears on every page carrying a paid link.

The thing we actually sell

The Bureau writes personalized letters from Santa. That is the business, and it is why we know what we know about wax, stationery and the post. You read the whole letter before you pay for it, and you can read three real ones right now without giving us anything at all.

While you are here: the letter itself

The Bureau writes personalized letters from Santa. You tell it two or three true things about your child, read the whole letter on screen, and only pay if you love it.
