For grandparents
Send a little North Pole magic to their mailbox.
You do not need another toy to make Christmas memorable. A letter from Santa that mentions the bike, the dog and the afternoon you two spent baking is the one they keep. You give the details. You read every word before you pay. The Bureau mails it to their house.
- Mailed to any address in the United States, including one that is not yours.
- Every email comes to you, never to the child.
- A digital copy comes too, so you can share it with the parents.
- From $6.95 digital, $16.95 printed and mailed.
Order a mailed letter by Wednesday 9 December.

How it works for a grandparent
- Tell Santa their first name, their age, and two or three true things from their year.
- Read the whole letter on screen. Ask for it warmer, funnier or shorter, or change a line yourself. Nothing is charged yet.
- Pick a package. At checkout, enter their home address as the mailing address. Your card’s billing address can be different.
- The confirmation and the digital copy come to your email. The envelope goes to theirs.
What to tell Santa
You see your grandchild differently from their parents, and that is the point. Pick two of these.
- The one thing they learned to do this year
- The pet, by name
- A day the two of you spent together
- What they are always playing, building or drawing
- A kind thing you saw them do
Leave out their school, their birthday and their last name. The letter does not need them, and the Bureau’s form has no fields for them. The full guide has more.
Questions grandparents ask
Can the letter be mailed to my grandchild's house instead of mine?
Yes. At checkout you enter the mailing address. It can be any address in the United States, and it does not have to match your card's billing address. The envelope is addressed to the name you give there.
Who gets the emails?
Only you, the adult who ordered. The confirmation, the digital copy and the mailed notice all go to your email address. The Bureau never contacts a child.
What if I do not know every detail of their year?
Two true things are enough. The thing they learned to do, the pet's name, the sport, the day you spent together. Santa writes from what you give and invents nothing, so a short list is better than a guessed one.
Can I order for more than one grandchild?
Yes, one letter at a time. Each child gets their own letter, written from their own details, and you read each one in full before you pay for it. Order again for the next child; your email is the only thing to type twice.
Will the parents know what is in it?
Only if you tell them. You might want to: the digital copy makes it easy to send them the letter so nobody promises a gift twice.
Can I send the digital letter instead?
Yes. The digital package arrives in your email within minutes, as a color PDF and a black and white PDF. Forward it to the parents to print, or print it yourself and hand it over on the day.
Compare the three packages on the packages page. Mailing details are on letters by mail.
